About the role

This position is responsible for teaching students with special needs in inclusive settings, aligning with the mission of YES Prep Public Schools.

Responsibilities

  • Writing accurate, aligned, data-driven IEPs for students on your caseload
  • Developing rigorous lessons in your specific content area, in 1:1 blended learning environments
  • Setting ambitious goals with your students and monitoring their progress
  • Tracking student growth and creating student growth plans
  • Building transformable relationships with students and families
  • Maintaining a physical or virtual classroom environment conducive to learning
  • Collaborating with co-planner to work through daily lesson plans and add resources
  • Completing supervision duties on campus
  • Completing compliance tasks related to student services
  • Growing professionally in your craft of teaching
  • Facilitating dyslexia instruction for qualifying students
  • Providing personal care services as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB)
  • Texas Educator Certification in Special Education, or willingness to join ACP to get certified in the first year
  • Strong ability to navigate web-related applications and technology
  • Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platforms

  • Compensation – Starting at $62,500 annually

Pay

$62,500 annually, with potential for TIA designation up to $102,800
