Special Education Assistant (MAB, 2 Positions), Dos Rios Elementary School

About the role

Provide an enriched atmosphere where students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible members of society. Facilitate learning and guide students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional and psychological growth and maturation. Reports to the school principal and department director where assigned.

Responsibilities

• Support the academic programming and progress of individual students and/or small groups of students with identified significant needs.
• Provide student-specific personal care and support.
• Assist with daily classroom activities.
• Assist in data collection.
• Sanitize equipment and materials.
• Support staff as needed.

Requirements

• Associate of Arts degree or 48 semester hours, or passing scores on WorkKeys exam.
• Ability to sit for long periods, handle numerous distractions, and maintain visual, auditory, and ambulatory acuity.
• Ability to move quickly in response to student needs and upper body strength with the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to perform the functions of the position.
• Ability to provide student-specific personal care support to students.
• Previous experience working in a school setting or with children with special needs.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Desire to work in a team setting and positive attitude.
• Paraprofessional experience preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred, but not required.

Pay

$20.51 per hour plus benefits; additional salary credit may be given for internal transfers and recent Greeley-Evans School District 6 rehires, up to $32.85 per hour plus benefits.

Schedule

2026–2027 school year, 182 days.
