Special Education Assistant Long-Term Substitute, II-B

About the role

North Allegheny School District seeks a Long-Term Substitute Special Education Assistant at Marshall Elementary School, effective to be determined until June 1, 2027. The district is one of the highest performing public school districts in Pennsylvania, recognized nationally for academic achievement, future preparation, school climate, and student and staff wellness. Located just north of Pittsburgh, it is the largest suburban school district in Allegheny County with over 8,500 students.

Responsibilities

• Provide support services for identified students assigned to select regular and/or special education environments.
• Collaborate with Inclusion Facilitators, Special Education Teachers, and Regular Education Teachers.
• Provide students with academic, emotional, social, behavioral, and physical support.

Schedule

• Positions work 7 hours per day during the school year only.

Pay

Starting hourly rate will be in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The rate for the 2026-2027 School Year is $20.70/Hour.

Requirements

• 48 credits of a post-secondary education, Associates Degree, or successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment.
• Current clearances required:
  • Child Abuse History Clearance
  • PA Criminal Record Check
  • FBI Fingerprint Clearance
  • Mandated Reporter of Child Abuse Training
• Successful candidate will be required to complete a pre-employment Physical and TB Test.
