About the role

Tutor Me Education, a leading educational service provider, is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Special Education Tutors to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for creating safe, nurturing, and dynamic environments where students can learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students with special needs in one-on-one sessions.
• Develop and implement customized lesson plans aligned with each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
• Adapt instructional methods, materials, and assessments to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Maintain records of student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and special education teams to support a cohesive educational experience.
• Maintain open and regular communication with parents or guardians to discuss student progress and address concerns.
• Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that supports the emotional and behavioral development of students.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in special education and integrate them into teaching.

Requirements

• Ability to commute to/from Oakland, CA
• Previous experience with special education, accommodations, and working with students with learning disabilities - REQUIRED
• Credentialed Special Education Teacher - Highly Preferred
• Bachelor's degree
• Ability to make learning fun and interactive, with the focus often determined by student questions and comments
