About the role
The Department of Special Education at Kutztown University invites applications for its temporary, adjunct pool. Identified undergraduate course sections could be day or evening. Responsibilities include teaching on-campus undergraduate special education courses and supervising student teachers during the school day. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth and professional development; and service.
Responsibilities
- Teach on-campus undergraduate special education courses
- Supervise student teachers during the school day
Requirements
- Master’s degree (or higher) in special education or a related field of study from an accredited university
- At least three years of special education teaching experience in a K-12 setting
- Evidence of knowledge and skill in working effectively with children with exceptionalities
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications:
- Doctorate
- At least one year of college-level teaching experience or equivalent
- Experience in the supervision of pre-service teachers
Applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be certified to be placed in the part-time adjunct faculty pool and will remain in the pool while it is active. As need arises, applicants in the pool will be considered and contacted for an interview.
