About the role

The Bay School is an independent, college-preparatory high school located in the Presidio of San Francisco. The Spanish Teacher reports to the Dean of Faculty & World Languages Department Chair and works 67-89% FTE, Exempt, Academic-year.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Spanish 1 at all levels from introductory to honors courses.
  • Collaborate with course teams to design curriculum and align with department goals and school mission.
  • Create and implement skills-based formative and summative assessments.
  • Provide timely feedback on student work.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, guardians, and advisors regarding student progress.
  • Schedule and attend course team meetings.
  • Attend staffulty or department meetings on Tuesday afternoons.
  • Serve as an advisor to a group of 8-10 students.
  • Attend and chaperone grade-level events and special events.
  • Chaperone a Flex block (study hall) one block per week each semester.
  • Hold tutorial at the end of the school day four days a week.
  • Model community engagement by being present throughout the school day, serving as a club leader, and participating in admissions events.
  • Attend Back to School Night in September.
  • Support the admissions program by attending a limited number of admissions events.

Requirements

  • A four-year undergraduate degree.
  • At least 3+ years of teaching experience, though candidates with fewer years of experience will also be considered.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and familiarity with PC and Mac platforms as well as LMS and SMS systems.

Pay

The full-time faculty salary range for the 2026-27 school year is $91,462 to $160,760, based on years of secondary school work or relevant experience.

Schedule

The Spanish Teacher works part-time, 67-89% FTE, Academic-year. Additional stipended roles may be available to reach full-time equivalency.
