Spanish Speaking-Workers' Compensation Paralegal

About the role

Our Workers' Compensation team is growing and we're seeking a Paralegal to support our pod in Hackensack, NJ. At GGL we are dedicated to providing exceptional legal services to clients who have been injured at work. Ideal candidates will have a strong desire to grow a legal career, are passionate about injured individuals, and want to be part of an amazing team environment. This is a full-time, in-office position requiring in-person attendance Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorney and team in managing workers' compensation cases from intake through settlement.
• Organize case files and ensure all documents are up to date.
• Track case progress and deadlines to ensure compliance.
• Maintain files in case database (Smart Advocate).
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide case updates.
• Assist in coordinating and scheduling meetings and appointments with clients, doctors, and medical experts.
• Request authorization from the employer/workers’ compensation carrier.
• Assist attorney with preparing for hearings, depositions, and trials.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of working experience, preferably in an office setting or legal office.
• Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent organizational skills and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to juggle multiple activities and maintain a professional demeanor.

Pay

The anticipated base pay is a range; actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies.
