Spanish Interpreter (Wisconsin)

About the role

Prisma International, Inc. (Prisma) is a dynamic and growing language services provider dedicated to delivering exceptional Interpretation solutions to clients worldwide. We are currently seeking qualified, professional SPANISH Interpreters located in the Eau Claire region of Wisconsin to join our team as Independent Contractors.

Responsibilities

• Support Prisma's state government client with ONSITE interpretation assignments.
• Provide consecutive or simultaneous ONSITE interpretation between a government representative and non-English speakers.
• Show polite forms of expression, enunciation, and high-level customer service.
• Ensure correct grammar, clarity, and tones between English and Spanish.
• Follow the speakers' direction, professionally interject when clarification is needed, and manage the flow of a conversation.
• Refrain from side conversations or entering into any disagreement with the customer or the LEP speaker.
• Comply with applicable ethics and standards.
• Work with different types of state agencies, including but not limited to the Department of Health Services (DHS), Department of Children and Families (DCF).

Requirements

• At least one (1) year of ONSITE consecutive or simultaneous interpreting experience.
• Two (2) professional references that can vouch for your work as an onsite consecutive or simultaneous interpreter.
• Minimum age: Must be 18+ years or older.
• Minimum education: Must have a High School Diploma.
• Reside within 50 miles of the City of Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
• Full fluency in English and Spanish.
• Able to provide one of the following accreditations: American Translation Association (ATA), Trained or accredited through a higher education institution.
