About the role

Prisma International, Inc. (Prisma) is a dynamic and growing language services provider dedicated to delivering exceptional Interpretation solutions to clients worldwide. We are currently seeking qualified, professional SPANISH Interpreters located in the Eau Claire region of Wisconsin to join our team as Independent Contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting Prisma's state government client with ONSITE (in person) interpretation assignments.
  • Providing consecutive or simultaneous interpretation between a government representative and non-English speakers.
  • Ensuring correct grammar, clarity, and tones between English and Spanish.
  • Managing the flow of a conversation and refraining from side conversations or entering into any disagreement with the customer or the LEP speaker.
  • Interjecting professionally when clarification is needed based on the speaker's direction.
  • Adhering to applicable ethics and standards.
  • Interpreting for different types of state agencies, including but not limited to the Department of Health Services (DHS), Department of Children and Families (DCF).

Requirements

  • At least one (1) year of ONSITE consecutive or simultaneous interpreting experience.
  • Two (2) professional references that can vouch for your work as an onsite consecutive or simultaneous interpreter.
  • Minimum age: Must be 18+ years or older.
  • Minimum education: Must have a High School Diploma.
  • Reside within 50 miles of the City of Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
  • Full fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Able to provide one of the following accreditations: American Translation Association (ATA), Trained or accredited through a higher education institution.
