Spanish Bilingual Lead Montessori Teacher

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-class preparation, including consultation with the Assistant and Director.
  • Outline the projected daily routine, including any special activities.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, including constant supervision.
  • Track attendance, student in/outs, illness, injury, incidents, and other information for the Director.
  • Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their child’s development and to determine goals.
  • Provide written reports of children’s progress and meet with parents two times per school year during parent-teacher conferences.
  • Conduct circle time activities, including finger play, singing songs, and movement.
  • Design and update the Montessori materials on a monthly basis, to align with seasonal curriculum and according to the children’s current interests.

Required Qualifications

  • AMS or AMI Certification.
  • 12 units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to pass a Fingerprint Background clearance through LiveScan.
  • Upon Hiring, complete Negative TB test and pass a health screening by a medical provider.
  • Proof of Influenza, Pertussis, & Measles Immunization.
  • Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training – valid within 2 years.
  • CPR & First Aid Certification within 90 days of hire.

Special Skills Needed

  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and focused in a busy, child-oriented classroom and be a collaborative and supportive Teacher.
  • A clear commitment to the educational philosophy of the school as articulated in the mission statement of Holding Hands Montessori.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work well with families and staff members of various backgrounds.
  • Willingness to adapt to an existing curriculum as well as contribute ideas to enhance the respective academic programs.

Pay and Benefits

  • Hourly Wage: $26 to $31/hour, based on education and experience.
  • Sign on bonus payable after 90 days of employment.
