About the role
The Spacecraft Program Scheduler is the schedule owner for assigned programs and serves as the authoritative source for schedule status, critical path visibility, and schedule risk across the program.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) using Microsoft Project for multiple concurrent spacecraft programs
- Build and manage detailed Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)-linked schedules from proposal through program execution, including design, fabrication, assembly, integration, test (AIT), and launch campaign phases
- Establish and maintain schedule baseline; control all baseline changes in accordance with Earned Value Management (EVM) requirement principles and guidelines
- Interface with government program offices and contracting officers on schedule matters as required
- Perform critical path analysis, schedule risk analysis (SRA), and float trending to proactively identify schedule risks
- Develop and track schedule recovery plans; support root cause analysis for schedule variances
- Support Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs) and schedule surveillance activities
- Affirm schedule compliance with CDRL requirements and contract data deliverables
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and test teams to gather inputs and validate schedule logic
- Facilitate schedule integration across subcontractors and suppliers; maintain subcontract schedule visibility
- Support proposal teams with schedule basis of estimate (BOE) development and schedule risk assessments
- Participate in and support integrated product team (IPT) meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, Systems Engineering, Project Management, or related technical discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in program scheduling for U.S. government space or defense programs
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Project, including resource loading, schedule baselining, and critical path analysis
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for complex, hardware-intensive programs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present schedule status to senior leadership and government customers
Qualifications
- Experience with spacecraft AIT (Assembly, Integration, and Test) scheduling and launch campaign planning
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 in addition to Microsoft Project
- Earned Value Management (EVM) experience on EVMS-compliant programs; familiarity with ANSI/EIA-748
- Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience on satellite programs for DoD, civ, commercial space customers
- Experience with space companies in a high-growth environment
