About the Role

Qualis LLC is seeking a highly qualified Space Systems Test Engineer with demonstrated experience in Space Systems, including OPIR, MILSATCOM, Global Positioning System, and Joint Space Operations Center Mission Systems. This position will assist with test design, planning, execution, data analysis, system characterization, and associated reporting for operational test and evaluation. The role also serves as the project manager and site team lead for Qualis at Buckley Space Force Base, CO.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis of the system and test capabilities.
  • Identify test capability requirements and shortfalls.
  • Develop methodologies and tools for testing.
  • Identify mission-critical functions and equipment and estimate potential impacts of threats.
  • Design tests using Design of Experiments (DOE) and identify potential mission impacts.
  • Review, analyze, and report to the test director the status of Systems Program Office (SPO) and developmental contractor’s systems documentation.
  • Analyze subsystem’s technology readiness levels.
  • Assist in translating user requirements into program/system requirements.
  • Identify the System Program Office's (SPO) plans for Developmental Test (DT).
  • Identify deficiencies in DT plans and data requirements that must be addressed in Operational Test (OT).
  • Identify OT data that can be collected during DT events (Integrated Testing).
  • Identify appropriate test tools and methods required to conduct OT.
  • Participate in and represent OT interests during Integrated Testing and dedicated OT events.
  • Analyze, characterize system performance, and report results of OT and IT&E events.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective project execution.
  • Manage resources, monitor team performance, and track timelines.
  • Provide detailed reports to senior leadership on project status, schedules, risks, and milestones.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in space systems, missile warning, satellite communications, global positioning system, space situational awareness, or overhead persistent infrared systems.
  • Practical application of satellite operations, specifically how these operations may impact operational testing.
  • Experience with various space systems, as the operator will be utilized as a subject matter expert.
  • Dedication to achieving the mission of the customer and high standards of quality and excellence.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to quickly understand the customers’ overall technical objectives and mission and provide effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with customer interaction and presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively alone, unsupervised, or within a group.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Background in operational testing highly desired.
  • SPACE 200 and SPACE 300 training highly desired.
