Space Science: The Effect of Environmental Factors on Microbial Evolution
About the role
The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA’s missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology.
Responsibilities
Our laboratory is particularly interested in applicants who wish to apply technical and theoretical skills to questions of microbial evolution. Of particular interest is questions relating to the role of the environment in evolution, including the evolution of organisms that are at the environmental limits for life, ""extremophiles"".

Qualifications
A strong background in biology, microbiology, or related field is preferred.
Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and proficiency in scientific writing.
