About the role
The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA’s missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology.
Responsibilities
- Focus on the effects of solar UV radiation and secondary parameters such as ionizing radiation and salt on life forms.
- Apply molecular techniques to studies of evolution, particularly at the protistan or cyanobacterial levels.
Requirements
- A Doctoral Degree.
Qualifications
- Experience with molecular techniques relevant to evolutionary studies.
- Interest in studying life under extreme environmental conditions.
Skills
- Strong background in astrobiology.
- Ability to conduct independent research.
