Space Propulsion Designer

About the role

As a Space Propulsion Designer at Thales Alenia Space, you will:

• Define and recommend candidate architectures for the corresponding level (solution or solution element) to satisfy stakeholder expectations.
• Establish the solution architecture by making trade-offs between stakeholder expectations, technical and technological solutions and costs, risks and schedule.
• Document the associated artefacts (architecture justification in the design and justification file, product breakdown structure, system/segment design document).
• Affirm the resulting lower-level specifications (internal or external).
• Assist in the solution development cycle and define the co-engineering approach.
• Manage, throughout the project life cycle, the assignment of the corresponding level requirements, the management of the performance evaluation and the critical parameters, the definition of the interfaces, and the technical negotiation between the different stakeholders (internal or external).

Requirements

You graduated with a Master of Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering degree with propulsion discipline or fluid analysis.

You are a leader willing to engage and develop your team through the use of collaborative work and challenging approaches.

You are responsible and show a great sense of initiative.

You are convincing and persuasive.

You like to be involved with the customer.

You have good communication and relationship skills.

Qualifications

You are aware of the description of the operational concept.

You have a deep knowledge of the field and its technical strategy.

You are familiar with operational analysis.

You are able to work in co-engineering (Lean Thinking, Obeya...).

You are familiar with Concept, Design, Experimentation and Simulation tools, as well as modelling tools (such as MBSE).

You are familiar with working with Integration Verification Validation Qualification and Agile methods.

• Experience: 6 – 11 Years.
• CCNL Met/Ind – B3 Category: € 41.424,25 - € 51.823,67.
• VC Target Rate up to 8%.
• CIPI up to 1.822€.
• Performance Bonus (PDR): up to 4.550€.
