About the role

The Space Planning Analyst manages planogram version/store combinations, store planogram assignments, and provides reporting and data analysis as needed. This role ensures the integrity of planograms for assigned department(s), maintains database accuracy, and provides clear direction for planogram implementation in stores. As an individual contributor, this role interacts at all levels of the organization, including senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate planograms with precise merchandise data in the Space Planning system for all required store/planogram combinations to support category strategies, line reviews, and other analyses.
  • Layout new or remodeled stores to support company growth programs.
  • Capture each department’s strategy and criteria and translate them into category merchandise plans.
  • Continually evaluate and identify opportunities within assigned departments to maximize financial performance.
  • Coordinate and participate in category strategies and line review sessions with Client Representatives and divisional merchandise managers, using analytics to guide SKU presentation for both visual impact and inventory efficiency.
  • Create planograms and store layouts to support seasonal merchandise plans.
  • Use space planning software to create and maintain shelf labels for stores.
  • Maintain archives of category strategies, line reviews, and vendor-provided data.
  • Work with Space Planning Coordinators to ensure the database is current with updated planogram files.
  • Provide data and reporting as needed by other departments and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and internal controls in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act 2002 Section 404.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in a business-related environment.
  • Experience with JDA software systems highly desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of store-level merchandising, retail analytical skills, and strong writing/editing/proofing ability are desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented aptitude.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
