About the role

As a Systems Engineer for the SDA GMI program, you’ll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying the state-of-the-art ground operational system. This role involves collaborating with customers, mission partners, and other key stakeholders to translate requirements into robust system designs within a fast-moving timeline.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics field
  • 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience
  • Agile experience preferred
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed within our facilities

Clearance Requirements

  • Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is preferred at time of hire
  • Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers, mission partners, and other key stakeholders to translate requirements into robust system designs within a fast-moving timeline
  • Decompose end-to-end system requirements into architecture, design, interfaces, and test cases
  • Coordinate with developers and integration and test teams to ensure component development meets system mission needs

  • Ground to Satellite communication knowledge
  • System/Software design for cloud-based microservice architecture

  • Thorough knowledge of technology trends and willingness to champion new ideas and process improvements
  • Strong presentation and communications skills with experience in negotiation and meeting customer requirements

Preferred Technical Background

  • Systems Engineering: Proficiency in systems engineering, decomposing requirements into architecture, internal and external interfaces, design behavior with emphasis on:
    • Ground pre-planned or ad-hoc scheduling and situational awareness of satellites and payloads
    • Experience with tracking IR payload or ground mission data transport, handling, and analysis
  • Software/Systems Engineering: Experience decomposing high-level space-ground systems design into ground software/systems design
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools such as CAMEO or MagicDraw
  • Programming and Tools Skills: Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, and MATLAB, including for software developer coordination, system analysis, prototype algorithm development, or modeling
  • Cloud Computing: Knowledge of cloud technologies and their application in system design and deployment
  • Simulation and Modeling: Background in simulation and modeling analysis with tools like STK, particularly in aerospace applications

Pay

Target salary range: USD $149,902.00/Yr. - USD $166,298.00/Yr. (Actual pay may vary based on experience and geographic location.)

Schedule

  • Fully on-site or Hybrid/Flex options available
  • While on-site, you will be part of the Scottsdale location facility
