About the role
The Massage Therapist administers professional massage and body treatments to guests. They must have a thorough knowledge of numerous massage modalities, a general understanding of body treatments, and be willing to train in the spa’s specific offerings. Excellent communication skills and a current Florida state license are required. The role involves providing wellness solutions tailored to guest needs while complying with departmental policies, service standards, and treatment protocols (e.g., Elemis, Natura Bissé).
Responsibilities
- Exhibit conduct in accordance with Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida policies.
- Arrive on time for shifts, be prompt with appointments, and perform services within allotted timeframes.
- Provide consistent, professional massage and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and certification practices.
- Educate guests about specific wellness concerns.
- Maintain flexibility to support the spa’s scheduling needs.
- Properly care for equipment and use products efficiently to assist with cost controls.
- Demonstrate complete knowledge of all services and products offered.
- Uphold sanitation and sterilization standards as directed by law and spa policies.
- Perform prep work, clean and restock rooms as required.
- Report any staff or guest occurrences requiring management attention.
- Actively promote spa services, treatments, retail, and available programs or discounts.
- Handle guest questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
- Provide accurate, appropriate, and immediate responses to guest requests.
- Work independently and maintain a positive attitude in a quality work environment.
- Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings.
- Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.
Requirements
- Enthusiasm and excellent customer service skills.
- Friendly, outgoing personality with strong communication and listening skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to work as a team player.
- Current Florida Massage Therapist License.
- Minimum of 1 year of practical experience in all aspects of skincare.
- Ability to pass a practical exam and interview.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work independently within a large group.
Work Environment
The role requires frequent standing, walking, use of hands, reaching, talking, hearing, and the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and focus adjustment. The casino environment is fast-paced, often crowded and noisy, with potential exposure to secondhand smoke and constant public interaction. Effective communication in English is required for guest interactions.
