About the Role

The Area Sales Manager is a dedicated support and selling resource assigned to a geographic region, working to support the Channel Sales Manager. This role involves problem-solving, organizing information and activities, and facilitating growth within the region. Responsibilities include new item setup, price list maintenance, promotional setup, and sample request/tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Take an active role in day-to-day activities and support the Channel Sales Manager.
  • Manage assigned accounts within the region.
  • Work with customers and channel management on new item setup, forecasting support, price list, and promotional maintenance.
  • Harvest data from pricing tools to create opportunities for sales expansion on existing items.
  • Monitor customers’ online platforms for changes or updates affecting sales interests.
  • Develop and support customer presentations.
  • Create and maintain sales reports in support of the Channel Sales Manager.
  • Make customer presentations as part of ongoing development.
  • Take full ownership of assigned customer accounts.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of business experience.
  • Associate’s Degree.
  • Ability to effectively interact, engage, and communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Prior experience with QAD/Qlikview is preferred.
  • Moderate skill set in negotiation, analytical, and influencing external buyers.
  • Ability to manage private label accounts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Consultative, influential, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting, drive a motor vehicle, and occasionally work in the field.

  • Frequent: sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck, fine finger dexterity, light to moderate finger pressure (extended keyboard and mouse use), side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque.
  • Occasional: squatting, kneeling, reaching above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp (manipulating reference books/manuals), lifting objects weighing 20–35 lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting up to 50 feet.
  • Vision: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.
  • Hearing: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Pay

Pay range for this position is $100,000–$125,000 plus annual bonus, depending on experience and geographical location.
