About the Role

Join the team at Hotel Celare, A Marriott Tribute Portfolio Hotel, located in The District at Clifton Heights. This role involves maintaining and adhering to state sanitation and health regulations, as well as hotel requirements. You will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food production, and managing a team of kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly, and safely.
• Establish, maintain, and train standards and procedures for operations and safe working conditions in the department.
• Plan, prep, set up, and provide quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials according to standards and plating guide specifications.
• Direct, train, and monitor the performance of kitchen staff.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
• Handle guest complaints to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Hire and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
• Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience as a line cook; prior supervisory experience preferred.
• High school graduate or equivalent; certification of culinary training preferred.
• Safe food handling certificate.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, such as B.E.O.'s, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
