Sodexo is seeking a Sous Chef for Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington. This manager will oversee the day-to-day execution of retail and catering operations, ensuring compliance, safety, and culinary deliverables.

About the role

Step into a dynamic culinary position where your creativity and expertise will directly influence the dining experience. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and standardizing culinary operations while mentoring and inspiring your team to deliver exceptional service and quality every day. This role is 80% hands-on cooking and 20% administrative work.

Accountable for managing people, setting direction, and deploying resources, including performance evaluations, pay reviews, and hire/fire decisions. Results are primarily achieved through the work of others and depend on your ability to influence and negotiate within the organization. Progression reflects the acquisition of broad technical expertise, business knowledge, and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of streamlined culinary systems to enhance consistency and efficiency.
  • Develop and mentor a passionate team, fostering growth and excellence.
  • Engage in hands-on procurement and purchasing to ensure the freshest ingredients and best value.
  • Collaborate on menu design that delights clients and reflects their unique preferences.
  • Build strong, lasting relationships with clients through exceptional service and communication.
  • Influence day-to-day culinary operations and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Solid culinary background with experience in high-volume, fast-paced environments.
  • Proven leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and developing culinary teams.
  • Expertise in menu planning and up-to-date knowledge of culinary trends and techniques.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities, detail-oriented mindset, and proficiency with computer systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience.

Schedule

  • Sunday: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Monday – Thursday: 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM
