Sourcing Specialist - Retail Fuel Distribution

About the role
The Sourcing Specialist – Retail Fuel Distribution is responsible for executing sourcing strategies to reduce costs and deliver stakeholder value, with primary focus on our Technical Services business area. The scope of the position includes preparation and execution of sourcing processes, contract and supplier management, stakeholder engagement, and value creation. Experience with construction, maintenance, PMO, MRO, OEM equipment, spare parts, or other technical-related fields is a plus. Experience in the fuel/midstream/energy space is also desired.
Responsibilities
- Generate analysis, development, and implementation of cost savings initiatives
- Provide analysis and research to determine sourcing activities
- Coordinate, assist, and/or lead negotiations, contract development, contract implementation, and supplier contract compliance
- Work with appropriate stakeholder teams on identified areas of opportunity
- Quantify and model financial savings related to opportunity
- Prepare for and participate in ongoing business reviews to ensure suppliers are performing to contracted obligations and service levels
- Solicit advice from manager regarding procurement processes and protocol and apply appropriate solutions to issues for stakeholders
- Act as a subject matter expert to support operations and ensure the purchasing process is carried out appropriately
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a business, supply chain, or technical discipline
- 2 – 7 years of work experience in sourcing, procurement, or related fields
- Customer-focused with excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented, professional attitude, and reliable
- Ability to structure and manage multiple priorities
- Service-oriented mindset with a desire to ensure client satisfaction
- Ability to think strategically, conceptually, and analytically to assess problems and make timely recommendations
- Proficiency in data analytics, sourcing, procurement systems, and customer service
- Experience with business software applications: Microsoft Office, Agiloft/other contract management software, and SAP/other purchasing software
Working Conditions
- Full-time in-office position located in Dallas, Texas under normal office working conditions
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing
- Occasional overnight travel may be required (approximately 10%)
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, extreme temperature conditions, loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
