Sourcing Specialist

Job Summary

About the role

Lead the sourcing activities for specific categories, including supplier qualification, product development, sample approvals. Responsible for supporting cross-functional teams on new product development and cost reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects to completion by proactively working with product managers and engineers to provide timely and clear feedback to suppliers with specific guidance on next steps.
• Drive completion of sourcing activities that have direct impact on companywide objectives.
• Lead product approvals in collaboration with offshore sourcing team members, suppliers, product managers and engineers.
• Conduct Request for Quote (RFQ) activities that summarize supplier quotations, landed cost analyses and total cost of ownership with recommendations for next steps.
• Arrange delivery of product samples to suppliers as part of the RFQ process.
• Stay current on commodity, exchange rate and general market trends to monitor impacts to costs.

Requirements

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree, 2+ Years of relevant experience in Sourcing, Purchasing or Supply Chain.

Competencies: Knowledge, Skills And Abilities: Background in the hardware industry is preferred but not required. Proficiency with MS Excel required. Ability to collaborate with team members in all levels of the organization. Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Results oriented. Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
