Sourcing Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies and plans for assigned categories consistent with global commodity team strategies and Business Unit objectives.
  • Develop, issue, and analyze RFQs for assigned commodities or as directed by the Sourcing Director.
  • Communicate sourcing strategies, pricing, and market conditions to stakeholders.
  • Support Business Units’ strategy and requirements.
  • Identify and develop new suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials and services.
  • Negotiate and implement sourcing agreements/contracts to increase supply assurance, reduce risk, and improve Sherwin‑Williams’ competitive position.
  • Forecast pricing on assigned categories to inform top management of future pricing and budgetary impacts.
  • Manage established pricing, including verification and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Negotiate and resolve claims or disputes concerning supplier performance.
  • Develop written category strategies for assigned categories.
  • Develop and implement cost‑savings projects and initiatives for assigned categories.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure strategy alignment with total cost, assured supply, and service.
  • Ensure compliance with department policies, procedures, and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Travel Requirements

Up to 10% travel.

Location

This role is not remote or hybrid and will report to Sherwin‑Williams Global Headquarters at 1 Sherwin Way, Cleveland, OH 44113.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, or a related specialization.
  • 2+ years of sourcing, supply chain, or relevant business experience.
  • Self‑starter with the ability to work with minimal direction in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred: 4+ years of successful sourcing, supply chain, or related experience.
  • Track record of increasing responsibility with strong performance in cost savings, contract negotiation, and security of supply.
  • Experience with COUPA.
