Position Summary

Within Light & Wonder, Strategic Sourcing operates as a sub‑function of Global Operations. The Strategic Sourcing group is a small, high‑functioning team focused on setting the strategy for the front‑end of the supply chain. The group determines supply strategy, selects supply partners, negotiates commercial terms, and coordinates supplier interactions and management. The Sourcing Specialist will identify and lead projects designed to improve the Light & Wonder supply chain for electronic components, driving cost reduction, margin improvement, lead‑time reduction, quality enhancement, and supply‑risk mitigation. The role requires strategic thinking, effective problem solving, and the ability to influence diverse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross‑functionally to define and implement global sourcing strategies.
  • Negotiate with component suppliers using volume aggregation, competitive bidding, and low‑cost‑country sourcing.
  • Develop suppliers to facilitate competition, mitigate risk, and introduce new technologies.
  • Interface with Finance to link sourcing savings with budget.
  • Support supplier development using scorecards, quarterly business reviews, “preferred supplier” programs, etc.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in sourcing, supply chain, or related fields, with an emphasis on direct‑material strategic sourcing.
  • Experience with category management and multi‑step strategic sourcing processes across a range of categories.
  • Experience with leveraged agreements and multi‑year contracts.
  • Highly results‑oriented with a proven record of business‑priority accomplishments.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills; ability to identify opportunities, assess solutions, and execute comprehensive action plans.
  • Strong supplier relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently and prioritize effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, especially in conveying technical expertise.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities; capable of building rapport with operations and cross‑functional colleagues.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • APICS/NAPM, CPIM or CPM certification or equivalent preferred.
