Sourcing Specialist
About the role
The Sourcing Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring operational excellence, performance accountability, and compliance across the assigned supply base. This role translates supplier strategy into effective execution, managing day-to-day supplier activities, driving measurable performance improvements, and ensuring suppliers meet business, quality, cost, delivery, and sustainability expectations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily supplier performance using data-driven KPIs and maintain accurate, up-to-date supplier scorecards.
- Proactively identify and coordinate corrective and preventive actions for supplier performance or delivery issues.
- Support regular, structured supplier business reviews, and provide performance analytics to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Operations, and other stakeholders to align supplier performance with internal requirements.
- Maintain accurate supplier master data, records, and documentation in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) systems and other relevant platforms.
- Support the Supplier Business Partner in developing and implementing supplier development plans and category strategies.
- Contribute to supplier risk assessments and mitigation planning to ensure supply continuity and resilience.
- Facilitate onboarding of new suppliers, including compliance checks and system setup.
- Track and report on supplier-related savings, performance metrics, and strategic progress.
Requirements
- Must have a working technical knowledge of the goods or services to be purchased.
- Proficiency in harmonized tariff schedule classification on materials and equipment for Imports/Exports.
- The ability to analyze technical data in suppliers’ proposals; good communication, negotiation, and mathematical skills;
- Knowledge of supply-chain management; and the ability to perform financial analyses.
- Anticipates consumer preferences and ensures that goods are in stock when they are needed.
- Requires resourcefulness, good judgment, and self-confidence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in supplier management, procurement, or supply chain.
Skills
- Good at planning and decision making and have an interest in merchandising.
