About the role

We are a Senior Manager in Sourcing & Procurement, focusing on upstream bulk metals, such as steel coil, sheet, plate, and other primary mill products. You will lead cost optimization and procurement process optimization projects, manage project support resources, and develop creative strategies to improve client outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project plans and lead client engagements
  • Manage project support resources and coordinate with subject matter experts
  • Develop and present cost reduction strategies and recommendations
  • Build consensus among client stakeholders
  • Assess client expenditures and identify cost reduction targets
  • Reengineer procurement processes
  • Coach and develop junior staff resources
  • Provide metals industry thought leadership and benchmarking
  • Create and curate deliverable content
  • Build and expand internal category knowledge capture and technologies

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement projects, including 5+ years in metals sourcing or negotiation
  • Minimum 3 years of management consulting experience with a well-regarded firm
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (minimum 12 years)
  • Proven experience sourcing a broad range of mill product metals categories such as steel coil, plate, and non-ferrous equivalents
  • Experience with mill direct buying, directed buys, spot and contract purchasing, hedging, and relationships with large producers
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to manage resources performing complex analytics
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong work ethic and high level of integrity

Qualifications

  • Deep expertise in upstream bulk metals procurement and/or negotiations across areas such as castings, stampings, extrusions, machined parts, and forgings
  • Experience with mill direct buying, directed buys, spot and contract purchasing, hedging, and relationships with large producers
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to manage resources performing complex analytics to develop client decision support data
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage multiple projects, tasks, and/or initiatives simultaneously, especially related to metals projects

Benefits

Compensation varies based on location, ranging from $122,700 to $338,300 annually. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability coverage, a 401(k) plan, bonus opportunities, paid holidays, and paid time off.

Pay

Annual salary range: $132,500 to $338,300

Schedule

Travel requirements: 10-50%
