Sourcing Manager
About the Role
Marketing agencies, media partners, consultancies, and contingent labor suppliers support a broad set of teams across Remitly. The commercial decisions in that portfolio move quickly and carry weight. As a Sourcing Manager on the Procurement team, you will lead it end-to-end: run competitive sourcing events, negotiate and renegotiate commercial terms, and partner with Marketing, Legal, and Finance leaders to ensure every commitment we make delivers maximum value. This is an individual contributor role based in Seattle, reporting to the Global Head of Procurement.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Marketing and Professional Services sourcing portfolio, delivering an annual savings and cost-avoidance target across agency, media, consulting, and contingent labor spend.
- Build the sourcing playbook for these categories—intake and evaluation, RFP templates, bid frameworks, negotiation strategy, and contract lifecycle workflow—and drive adoption across the business.
- Act as a commercial partner to Marketing and functional leaders, joining planning early to shape demand and scope rather than presenting a signed decision.
- Bring market intelligence and benchmarks that influence purchasing decisions.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in strategic procurement or category management, with direct ownership of marketing, media, or professional services spend.
- Experience leading competitive sourcing events and negotiating master agreements, SOWs, and renewals to closure, collaborating with Legal on commercial terms.
- Fluency with agency and services commercial models, including retainer vs. project vs. performance fees, rate cards, media commissions, and pass-through costs.
- Ability to build cost models that expose value and defend recommendations to skeptical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and AI skills to dissect spend data, build should-cost or total-cost-of-ownership models, and apply AI for greater impact.
- Working knowledge of procurement and CLM tooling (e.g., Coupa, Ironclad) and third-party risk and compliance requirements in a regulated industry.
Pay
The starting base salary range for this position is $92,000 - $115,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders, and equity is part of the total compensation plan. Additional financial benefits may include medical coverage and other components.
Benefits
- Flexible paid time off
- Health, dental, and vision insurance + 401k plan with company matching
- Paid parental, medical, military, and family care leave
- Mental health and family-forming benefits
- Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
- Continuing education opportunities
