Sourcing Manager

About the role
This position manages the daily procurement of raw materials, parts, equipment, and operating supplies required for production. The Sourcing/Commodity Manager will drive lean enterprise systems, conduct commodity market and sourcing analysis, and ensure cost-efficient, reliable material sourcing aligned with division strategies.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Division’s purchases of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and services.
- Identify raw material requirements based on production specifications, operational schedules, and engineering quality standards.
- Determine the most cost-efficient and reliable materials for manufacturing processes.
- Establish preferred supplier selection criteria, evaluating price, quality, delivery, certifications, and compliance with procurement regulations.
- Promote and leverage strategic suppliers through interviews, negotiations, and supplier evaluations.
- Develop procedures to optimize the company’s purchasing position, balancing local and Group strategic suppliers.
- Collaborate with suppliers on continuous improvement programs addressing quality, delivery, service, and price.
- Develop standard and automated re-order procedures, including crisis management and supplier backup contingency programs.
- Benchmark best practices among suppliers and maintain accurate performance records.
- Ensure purchases and capital expenditures align with Division strategies and budgets.
- Integrate electronic interfacing throughout the purchasing function.
- Assist with supplier negotiations for new procurements or changes to existing purchase orders.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5–7 years of purchasing/managerial experience.
- 4-year college degree in business, engineering, or materials management; supply chain management certification preferred.
- Analytical and technical skills to assess business practices and recommend automation opportunities.
- Functional understanding of cost accounting and its practical application.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in electronic processing systems.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
- Innovative mindset with a strong embrace of lean enterprise principles and practices.
Pay
Pay Range: $100,300 to $159,400 annually, with participation in the Annual Incentive Program.
