The Job
Forty Acres is seeking a Sourcing & Fulfillment Supervisor to oversee day to day operations for our multichannel (in person markets and delivery service) grocery business. Inventory management is a key part of this job, including: sourcing and purchasing fresh produce from wholesale suppliers, maintaining suitable inventory levels, and identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation. SKU tracking and management is a critical component of the role so knowledge of produce sizing and cases is very important. Strict attention to detail is needed for success. This is a manager’s role with staff supervisory responsibilities. This includes the management and supervision of warehouse and delivery staff for delivery fulfillment, quality control processes, procurement, and inventory management. This person will play a key role in preparing the team for order fulfillment and deliveries. The manager will regularly evaluate and provide reporting on warehouse productivity.
Duties
- Supervise staff of up to 1-3 associates in day to day operations
- Developing daily operations plans for the team (including order fulfillment, deliveries, inventory management, etc.)
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the fulfillment process and the supporting technology used in our production space
- Troubleshooting production issues and finding solutions to improve efficiency
- Inventory management including sourcing, purchasing, and supervising the intake process
- Collaboration with market manager on cross channel inventory management
- Maintaining accurate production reports and reporting on order fulfillment status to ownership
- Contributing to continuous improvement of Forty Acres Fresh Market systems and processes
- Ensuring team compliance with company, state, and local processes and policies
- Aiding in creating weekly staffing plans, including tracking workload and hours
- Regularly updating reporting to track role and team key performance indicators
- Administering administrative tasks including delivery route preparation, daily customer notification emails, delivery calendar maintenance, and preparing employee work plans
- Modeling a vibrant, team oriented company culture that promotes individual development and growth
- Occasional assistance with residential and commercial delivery in company van
- Occasional order fulfillment including general cashiering – ring up customer purchases
Requirements
- 2-3 years experience in a commercial food business (produce wholesale, kitchen, farm, or grocery delivery business) is a big plus
- Candidate must be adept with technology and desktop based applications, with intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access, etc.) and/or Google Suite applications (GMail, Calendar, Google Sheets, Google Drive, etc.)
- Minimum 1 year of customer service experience
- At least 1 year experience forecasting staffing, workload, and performance results
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience, including managing associate level staff
- Strong communication skills, including written and verbal
- Extremely flexible and adaptable; adjusts quickly to changing priorities and conditions
- Copes effectively with complexity and change
- Maintains stable performance under time pressures
- High level of professional organization and attention to details
- High comfort using basic arithmetic to perform daily job duties
- Valid Driver’s License w/ no history of accidents in the last 5 years (needed to drive company vehicles)
- Experience driving cargo vans and larger vehicles
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year experience auditing transactions and inventory
- Experience with employee interviewing, training, and development
- Bachelor’s Degree/Equivalent experience
- Experience with Six Sigma or process improvement methodologies
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for equitable healthy food systems
Pay
Starting at $50,000.00 per year
