The Sourcing Engineer will support the Strategic Sourcing Team in fulfilling Gray's direct procurement responsibilities on large industrial construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Support strategic sourcing team, focusing on equipment and material procurement
- Understand the scope and range of suppliers/vendors across all categories
- Shadow assistant category managers during the relationship development process
- Evaluate bids and provide support for Assistant Category Managers that provide bid leveling analysis for both commercial and technical scope
- Work with appropriate technical and contract team members
- Become familiar with basic knowledge of all products to be sourced across all categories
- Follow best practices established by procurement leadership
- Ensure all equipment is purchased and delivered within budget and time constraints
- Participate in continuous improvement of procurement processes and policies
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in strategic sourcing or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Familiarity with electrical, switchgear, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, piping & equipment, boilers, air compressors, industrial tanks, pumps, specialty process equipment, construction materials
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- A desire to grow skills and abilities within the department
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications (word processing, spreadsheets, email)
- Experience with Procore, Smartsheet, CMIC, Building Connected, Bluebeam, PowerBI (preferred but not required)

Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands or arms, talk or hear
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Close vision required
- Moderate noise level and controlled temperature/humidity
- Overtime and some travel may be required
