Sourcing Engineer

The Sourcing Engineer will support the Strategic Sourcing Team in fulfilling Gray's direct procurement responsibilities on large industrial construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Support strategic sourcing team, focusing on equipment and material procurement
• Understand the scope and range of suppliers/vendors across all categories
• Shadow assistant category managers during the relationship development process
• Evaluate bids and provide support for Assistant Category Managers that provide bid leveling analysis for both commercial and technical scope
• Work with appropriate technical and contract team members
• Become familiar with basic knowledge of all products to be sourced across all categories
• Follow best practices established by procurement leadership
• Ensure all equipment is purchased and delivered within budget and time constraints
• Participate in continuous improvement of procurement processes and policies

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in strategic sourcing or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Familiarity with electrical, switchgear, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, piping & equipment, boilers, air compressors, industrial tanks, pumps, specialty process equipment, construction materials
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• A desire to grow skills and abilities within the department
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications (word processing, spreadsheets, email)
• Experience with Procore, Smartsheet, CMIC, Building Connected, Bluebeam, PowerBI (preferred but not required)
