Responsibilities
- Solicit and evaluate proposals, make recommendations, and monitor supplier performance for a range of routine, established, customary requirements.
- Process agency purchase requisitions and ensure Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Encouraging Diversity Growth & Equity (EDGE) vendor utilization.
- Review and analyze contracts to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; negotiate changes (e.g., confer with other agencies, vendors, manufacturers, or distributors on delivery, prices, quantity, and services; ensure purchasing practices align with ODPS procedures).
- Prepare specifications for development of contracts for goods and personal service acquisitions (e.g., coordinate purchasing of supplies, materials, equipment, or services; research quotes and prepare cost analysis; review contractual language, evaluate bids, and recommend awards).
- Provide technical assistance to other agencies and ODPS divisions with contract negotiations and compliance with state and federal laws and regulations (e.g., coordinate special acquisitions projects; enforce section policies and procedures; interpret state and federal laws).
Requirements
Option 1: 18 months of experience or 18 months of training in purchasing/procurement/sourcing.
Option 2: Completion of an associate core program in public or business administration, purchasing/procurement, materials management, contracting, acquisition management, logistics, strategic procurement, purchasing management, supply chain management, or another sourcing-related field.
Option 3: 6 months of experience as a Sourcing Associate, 64511.
Or equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
