About the Role

This position involves applying ultrasound imaging techniques, including proper machine settings, transducer selections, and additional imaging using both fixed and portable equipment. The Sonography/Ultrasound Technologist II works closely with radiologists in a medical environment, interacting with patients, physicians, and colleagues across all patient populations, including infants, children, adults, and geriatric patients.

The role requires working in a physically demanding environment with potential exposure to infections, hazardous materials, and irregular work hours, including overtime. The work involves significant standing, bending, and lifting.

Responsibilities

  • Apply ultrasound imaging techniques, including machine settings and transducer selections.
  • Produce high-quality ultrasound images through proper techniques and patient positioning.
  • Operate a wide range of ultrasonography equipment, including mobile units.
  • Exercise independent judgment and initiative under general supervision.
  • Interact professionally with physicians, patients, and coworkers.
  • Work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced medical environment.
  • Hold self and others accountable for safety by following procedures and guidelines.
  • Respond to coaching and feedback for continuous improvement and skill development.
  • Demonstrate appropriate judgment and thinking skills for various situations.
  • Attend or review a minimum of three Town Hall meetings.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of radiation safety and proper equipment usage.
  • Ensure proper patient identification and consistent hand hygiene practices.

Requirements

  • Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is required.
  • Ability to use a wide range of ultrasonography equipment, including mobile units.
  • Ability to learn new procedures and operate new equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to deal tactfully and professionally with physicians, patients, and coworkers.
  • Physical ability to tolerate prolonged standing, bending, and lifting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Multiple ARDMS credentials preferred.
