Primary Responsibilities
- Ensures quality imaging, patient care and work flow.
- Maintains patient documentation for timely completion and accuracy.
- Serves as a resource to department staff and other team members as needed.
- Performs staff orientation, training, and coaching.
- Provides input to staff performance evaluations.
- Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory agency standards.
- Submits all high-quality images and documents promptly to PACS.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly department including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Completion of a Sonography program.
- Two years' experience.
Physical Requirements
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
- Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
- Rare kneeling and sitting.
Required Professional License and/or Certifications
- State of Work: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin.
- BLS HCP - American Heart Association (AHA).
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
