About the role
The Sonographer operates imaging equipment and software, primarily ultrasound equipment, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires proficiency in operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards. A strong commitment to patient care, technical expertise, and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals is essential to provide optimal care.
Responsibilities
- Operate imaging equipment, primarily ultrasound, to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
- Adjust protocols as needed based on patient requirements and clinical context.
- Follow machine emergency procedures and radiation safety protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
- Maintain technical expertise and stay updated on best practices in sonography.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Sonography with completed required clinical hours.
- One (1) year of relevant experience.
- State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
- Certifications/Registrations: ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI, plus 2 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the work area.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

- Knowledge of safe and proper machine operation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
