About the Role
Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures to produce quality images for interpretation, ensuring equipment functionality and safety compliance.
Responsibilities
- Sets up and adjusts ultrasound equipment.
- Maneuvers transducers to capture images.
- Recognizes pathology and artifacts.
- Submits high-quality images to PACS.
- Maintains department cleanliness and reports equipment issues.
- Adheres to safety standards and assists with a variety of imaging procedures.
- Maintains regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Completion of a Sonography program.
- Professional licensure/certifications including RDMS, RVS, or RVT.
- BLS certification.
- No prior experience required.
Physical Demands
- Constant standing and walking.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent reaching, bending, and patient handling.
- Requires good vision, hearing, and communication skills.
Skills
- Knowledge of ultrasound equipment and safety standards.
- Understanding of image quality requirements.
- Ability to recognize anatomical structures and artifacts.
