About the role
Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures. Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age specific needs. Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results. Acquires patient’s clinical history and provides accurate documentation for invasive procedures. Documents patient weight, blood pressure and other pertinent information depending on patient status.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of perinatal ultrasound procedures which may include invasive procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.
- Ability to perform fetal Doppler studies, 3D/4D image rendering, fetal echocardiography, and nuchal translucency screening.
- Ability to analyze fetal anatomy in all stages of gestation for anomalies and fetal well-being.
- Ability to appropriately image the maternal reproductive anatomy for anomalies including transvaginal ultrasound.
- Knowledge of urogynocology ultrasound procedures focusing on pelvic floor studies which may include invasive procedures.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Sonography or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in either obstetric and perinatal sonography, urogynocology sonography and/or other specialized diagnostic studies.
- A documented track record of leadership experience.
- A history of working with a Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist, Urogynocologist and/or other specialty-trained physicians in the past.
Qualifications
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) [Required]
- Registered Radiology Technologist (RT)(R) (ARRT) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
Skills
- Knowledge of perinatal and urogynocology ultrasound procedures.
- Ability to perform fetal imaging and analysis.
- Experience with Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists and Urogynocologists.
