Somali Language Analyst - Native

About the role

The Somali Operational Language Analysts - Native Capability positions at CTC Group are tasked with providing native language and cultural expertise to support SIGINT operations. These analysts will process voice and/or graphic language materials, ensuring accuracy and relevance to intelligence information.

Responsibilities

• Comprehend written and/or spoken material in Somali that includes references and vocabulary related to common social situations and everyday life.
• Render the main points of straightforward, factual materials from Somali into English with a reasonable degree of accuracy.
• Understand and translate complex material, including idioms, colloquialisms, and nuances, into idiomatic American English.
• Analyze and interpret language materials to identify relevant intelligence information.
• Translate and/or transcribe complex and sophisticated written and/or spoken material accurately.
• Perform quality control reviews of translations and transcripts of complex and sophisticated material.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
• Native capability in Somali, defined as learning the language since birth and being formally educated in it for at least ten years in a country where it is widely spoken.
• Experience and qualifications as outlined for each level (1-4).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent for Level 1.
• Associate's Degree or equivalent for Level 2.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent for Level 3.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent plus additional experience for Level 4.

Skills

• High proficiency in Somali and English.
• Strong analytical and interpretive skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $190,000, influenced by various factors such as location, labor categories, experience, education, and certifications. CTC also offers a variety of benefits.
