Somali Interpreter

About the role

We are seeking fully-bilingual foreign language interpreters to provide in-person interpretation for our local Nebraska clients. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to use their cultural knowledge to help non-English speakers in their community.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation services for clients in the Lincoln area
• Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Use an online portal for printing and uploading vouchers

Requirements

• Fully bilingual
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality/HIPAA compliance
• Must be available for in-person appointments locally
• Must have transportation to attend appointments
• Technical skills for learning/using an online portal (printing and uploading vouchers required)
• Must have access to a printer
• Interpreting experience and/or certification preferred
• Background checks and drug screens required

Schedule

• PRN (as needed), part-time hours
• Flexible based on interpreter's availability and preferences
• Applicants must have some availability Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Hours are not guaranteed and depend on availability, languages spoken, and client needs

Proof of Vaccination Requirement

As a company providing interpretation services to medical facilities, proof of vaccination is required as part of the hiring process to comply with client health and safety requirements. Medical or religious exemptions will be considered with appropriate documentation. All medical information will be handled confidentially.
