Solutions Engineer - State, Local, Educational (SLED)

For our client, we are seeking a Solutions Engineer - State, Local, Educational (SLED) to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space. This role will partner closely with state, local, and educational customers to design and deliver technology solutions that support mission-critical public safety operations. The position blends technical discovery, product demonstrations, and deployment readiness to help agencies adopt drone-based capabilities with confidence. You will collaborate across customer stakeholders and internal teams to remove integration barriers, validate site requirements, and advance opportunities through proof-of-concept activity. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $150,000 – $225,000 annually Responsibilities Collaborate with public safety agencies to develop tailored drone solutions Conduct product demonstrations and ensure smooth technology integration Own site assessment quality and verify dock locations before deployment Run structured proofs of concept tied to active opportunities Support airspace path requirements, including BVLOS approvals and waivers Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product improvements Qualifications 5-7 years of experience in Public Safety sUAS operations Strong understanding of Drone as First Responder concepts Familiarity with public safety software (CAD, VMS) and API integrations Active FAA Part 107 Certificate Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities Benefits Comprehensive health insurance plans Paid vacation time and sick leave Holiday pay 401K savings plan Equity in the form of stock options Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
