Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale a high-performing team of Solutions Engineers.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Success teams to drive technical excellence and customer outcomes.
  • Shape and execute the Solutions Engineering strategy to support revenue growth and product adoption.
  • Collaborate with Sales leadership to align SE resources with enterprise opportunities and customer segments.
  • Develop scalable processes, methodologies, and enablement frameworks to drive operational excellence.
  • Support high-impact customer engagements, demonstrating Fonoa’s platform value to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams, translating feedback into product insights.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous learning across the SE organization.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, or similar roles, including 4+ years in a leadership position.
  • Experience building and scaling SE functions in B2B enterprise SaaS, ideally within fintech, tax tech, or API-driven platforms.
  • Thrive at the intersection of technology and business, simplifying complex concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Empathetic leader who develops talent, builds trust, and drives results through collaboration.
  • Comfortable in high-growth, fast-paced environments and balancing long-term goals with hands-on execution.
  • Strong communication skills, executive presence, and a track record of influencing technical and commercial decisions.
  • Experience selling into the office of the CFO or indirect tax is a plus.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop a team of technical professionals.
  • Experience with tax compliance and tax technology.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies.

Pay

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $180,000 - $250,000 + commission + equity + benefits. Actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, the candidate's years of experience, qualifications, relevant skill set, certifications, and geographic office location.

This is a full-time position based in New York City.
