Solutions Engineer, Command

About the role

Command by Asana is a new product designed for software development teams. It helps engineers stay productive by automating decision cataloging and streamlining release processes. It also assists Engineering Managers in managing scope, dependencies, and risks in real-time.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the incubation Account Executive to validate technical needs within mid-market and enterprise accounts.
• Develop practical solutions for Engineering and product development teams, translating customer pain points into actionable strategies.
• Conduct technical discovery sessions, whiteboard conversations, and tailored product demonstrations to align Asana with customer technology landscapes.
• Advise on solution architecture, integrations, and deployment approaches to help customers evaluate Asana's fit.
• Support expansion opportunities within existing Asana accounts by uncovering and addressing new needs.
• Create repeatable demo assets, solution patterns, and technical collateral to enable broader field organization adoption.
• Surface structured customer feedback and product gaps to inform product and go-to-market strategies.
• Deliver technical enablement and best practices to strengthen conversations with Engineering buyers.

Requirements

This role requires a Solutions Engineer with 3+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles, strong understanding of Engineering and product development workflows, and proficiency in product demonstrations and technical discovery.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies.
• Strong understanding of product delivery workflows, operational pain points, and the systems used by Engineering teams.
• Experience with AI coding agents, API/MCP, data structures, permissions, and automation.
• Excellent discovery skills to uncover customer workflows, technical constraints, decision criteria, and success metrics.
• Proficiency in designing and delivering product demonstrations and workshops for both technical and executive audiences.
• Strong collaboration skills to work seamlessly with AEs, CSMs, Product, Product Marketing, and other Solutions Engineers.
• Adaptability and intellectual curiosity to operate in evolving motions and adapt quickly to changing product capabilities and playbooks.
• Experience with engineering tools in areas like Project & Issue Management, Agile Planning, AI Coding Agents, IDE, CI/CD (preferred).
• Background supporting displacement or migration conversations from legacy enterprise software (preferred).
• Comfort with modern sales and demo tooling and building scalable technical content for a growing field organization (preferred).

Benefits

The role offers a comprehensive compensation package, including a base salary range of $167,650 - $178,500, with additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay, and benefits. Details on the total compensation and benefits package can be discussed with your recruiter.
