About the role

Unlimited Technology (UT) designs, installs, and services integrated electronic and physical security systems (access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, physical barriers, etc.) for government and commercial entities. Based primarily in the mid-Atlantic region, our team members dispatch to locations throughout the nation and occasionally overseas. The Solution Engineer will support our operations on the West Coast and nationwide, interfacing with UT internal resources to design and implement security systems.

This position reports to the Solutions Engineering Manager and involves coordinating internal resources to drive project completion, with an estimated 25-35% travel, primarily focused on the West Coast but with nationwide opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineering and business development resources to design security systems based on client-provided specifications and industry standard practices.
  • Conduct site surveys as needed to support system design and documentation updates.
  • Support RFP review and response, including requirements assessment and drawing takeoffs.
  • Familiarity with GC construction projects, bid/spec RFPs, and design/build opportunities.
  • Collaborate with clients and end-users to plan, develop, and propose physical security solutions using UT’s product line card.
  • Develop bills of materials and equipment specifications.
  • Create technical Scope of Works to outline proposed project installation and configuration.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical experience in Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion Detection, and Network Design.
  • Experience in security system design for healthcare, government, K-12, critical infrastructure, enterprise customers, and higher education environments.
  • Experience with one or more of the following software platforms is a bonus: Genetec, Software House, Lenel, Gallagher, and Milestone.
  • Experience with networks, IT fundamentals, and servers is a plus.
  • Experience with government systems, including PIV and CIV cards, FICAM, HSPD-12, and FIPS 201-2 standards is a plus.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4+ years) with a technical focus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.).
  • Team-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the security manufacturers noted above.

Pay

$95,000 - $120,000 USD
