Solutions Engineer
About the role
The Solutions Engineer at Overstory will leverage cutting-edge technology to enhance the resilience of the electrical grid. Our data products, derived from satellite imagery and machine learning, provide utilities with insights into vegetation risks to power lines, which can prevent outages and reduce wildfire risks.
Responsibilities
- Deliver analyses with technical and geospatial depth
- Build tools and workflows that scale our work
- Help customers implement our solutions
- Own customer projects end-to-end
- Translate technical findings into actionable recommendations
- Identify patterns and standardize them for future productization
Requirements
- 2-4 years of professional experience working with large, complex geospatial datasets
- Proficiency with Python, Jupyter, git/GitHub, and command-line workflows
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated attention to detail and care with data
- Experience leveraging AI tooling to enhance work
- Proven ability to solve ambiguous problems and collaborate with stakeholders
Qualifications
- Passionate about using data to address climate challenges
- Background in utility operations, infrastructure, or vegetation management (nice to have)
- Experience with remote sensing, satellite imagery, or other earth observation data (nice to have)
- SQL or experience with data engineering pipelines (nice to have)
- Experience in a high-growth startup or mission-driven company (nice to have)
