About the role
This position supports business growth by providing technical expertise throughout the sales cycle and assisting customers in evaluating manufacturing execution, traceability, maintenance, and operational improvement solutions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Account Executives throughout the sales process to identify customer requirements and qualify opportunities.
- Conduct customer discovery sessions to understand manufacturing processes, assembly sequences, operational challenges, business objectives, and technical requirements.
- Analyze production workflows, cycle times, takt times, bottlenecks, sequence of operations, and manufacturing constraints to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Deliver technical demonstrations, presentations, proof-of-concept activities, and pilot deployments.
- Translate customer requirements into practical solution architectures and implementation strategies.
- Develop business cases and ROI models that quantify improvements in productivity, throughput, quality, traceability, maintenance effectiveness, and operational performance.
- Aid customers in identifying hidden losses related to waiting time, micro-stops, manual processes, inconsistent execution, and lack of operational visibility.
- Evaluate solutions related to manufacturing execution, traceability, maintenance management, workforce guidance, and condition monitoring.
- Support implementation planning, system validation, commissioning activities, and customer acceptance processes.
- Identify technical risks and support development of mitigation plans during project planning and execution.
- Maintain technical knowledge of manufacturing technologies, Industry 4.0 initiatives, automation systems, industrial networking, and emerging digital manufacturing solutions.
- Travel locally and internationally as required to support customer opportunities and project activities.
- Maintain accurate records of customer requirements, pilot activities, technical evaluations, and project documentation.
- Liaise professionally and constructively with customers, suppliers, engineering teams, implementation teams, and manufacturing leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) to seven (7) years of experience in Solution Engineering, Sales Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related technical customer-facing roles.
- Experience working within manufacturing operations, assembly systems, automated production environments, industrial software, or Industry 4.0 initiatives.
- Strong understanding of Industrial Engineering principles including Takt Time, Cycle Time, Throughput Analysis, Capacity Analysis, OEE, Line Balancing, Work-In-Process (WIP), and Theory of Constraints.
- Experience identifying manufacturing bottlenecks and developing data-driven recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and operational performance.
- Experience supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Industrial IoT (IIoT), Connected Worker platforms, Traceability Systems, CMMS solutions, machine monitoring platforms, or automation systems.
- Working knowledge of PLC control systems, industrial networking, HMI platforms, robotics, machine vision systems, smart tools, torque systems, and automated assembly equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, process flow diagrams, manufacturing documentation, and technical specifications.
- Experience supporting pilot projects, proof-of-concept activities, equipment commissioning, validation, or implementation projects.
- Understanding of manufacturing quality systems, compliance requirements, traceability methodologies, error-proofing systems, and audit requirements.
- Experience working directly with Process Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers, Maintenance Teams, Production Supervisors, and Plant Leadership.
- Strong technical presentation, communication, and customer engagement skills.
