About the role

This is the founding Solutions Engineer role at Genspark—the first technical seller in the GTM org and the person who defines what world-class SE looks like. You'll engage directly with sophisticated IT and security buyers, earning their trust, proving the platform, and winning the technical decision. As the first SE, you'll write the playbook, partner with GTM leaders and Account Executives, shape demos and technical evaluations, and build the foundation for future hires. This role reports to the Head of GTM Engineering (Eduardo Ynaty) in a flat org with no layers between you and decision-makers.

Responsibilities

  • Run the technical sales motion end-to-end: discovery, architecture, demos, whiteboard sessions, executive briefings, and security reviews to win technical buy-in.
  • Dive deep into the prospect's stack—identity providers, CRMs, ITSM, cloud infrastructure, and SaaS apps Genspark integrates with. Scope integrations, anticipate blockers, and prove value in pilots.
  • Translate technical environments into scoped pilots: define success criteria, build proof-of-concept workspaces, and demonstrate how Genspark's multi-agent workflows replace point-tool sprawl.
  • Serve as the credible voice on security and access, fluent in guardrails, approval workflows, least-privilege access, audit logging, and compliance questions security teams prioritize—no hand-waving.
  • Build the SE toolkit from scratch: demo environments, reference architectures, evaluation frameworks, technical FAQs, competitive positioning, and repeatable plays to scale the team.
  • Act as the bridge between field and product: capture objections, feature gaps, and real-world use cases, then collaborate directly with Engineering to address them.
  • Enable the broader GTM org: package insights into demo assets, talk tracks, and training to elevate AEs and future SEs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or a comparable pre-sales technical role at a B2B software or infrastructure company.
  • A builder at heart: you scope what matters, stand up demos or proofs-of-value independently, and ship results without waiting for others.
  • Deeply technical and credible: earn respect from CIOs, Heads of IT, and security leaders in the first meeting. Hold your own in architecture reviews, debug integrations live, and address security questions without relying on slides.
  • AI-fluent, not AI-bullish: understand LLMs, agentic workflows, and multi-modal AI systems in enterprise contexts. Explain the difference between deterministic scripts and reasoning agents—and why it matters for security reviews.
  • A trusted advisor by instinct: listen for the real problem and prove value in the sales cycle rather than pitching features.
  • Comfortable in ambiguity: own your work end-to-end, move without waiting for direction, and embrace being the first SE (writing the FAQ, not reading it).
  • Excellent communicator: translate complex multi-agent workflows into clear business value for CFOs and technical depth for engineering reviewers. Write clearly and present persuasively.

Nice to Have

  • Programming fluency (Python, JavaScript, or SQL) to wire APIs, build demos, or debug prototypes.
  • Experience with enterprise security, compliance, and procurement processes (RFPs, DPAs, risk assessments, SSO/SCIM).
  • Prior founding or early-stage SE experience—you’ve been the first SE before and know what it takes.
  • Familiarity with the modern IT stack: IdPs, SCIM, ITSM, CRM, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise SaaS administration.
  • Exposure to GTM Engineering or Forward Deployed Engineering—understanding the builder/seller hybrid model.

Location

Remote-friendly across the US. Preference for NYC and Palo Alto—we have a small Palo Alto office (engineering + cofounding team) and a NYC office is likely coming. Everyone outside Palo Alto is currently remote.
