Solutions Engineer

About the role

Join a dedicated group of technical sales professionals who serve as the face of the Cisco brand for our customers and partners in Pennsylvania. Our team functions as the primary technical engine within the account organization, collaborating closely with sales leadership to translate complex business challenges into innovative technology solutions. You will work within a collaborative environment that leverages virtual support teams and cross-functional expertise to displace competition and land new opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical sales excellence by translating complex customer business needs into robust technical requirements and architectural designs.
• Lead strategic account planning and demand generation campaigns to pinpoint growth opportunities and expand Cisco’s footprint within key accounts.
• Influence executive-level decision-makers by delivering compelling solution demonstrations and leveraging deep market insights to differentiate Cisco from the competition.
• Orchestrate cross-functional collaboration with internal business units and external partners to refine strategic alignment and elevate customer relationships.
• Mentor and motivate extended sales teams to strengthen knowledge sharing and guide structured educational initiatives that drive revenue and market share.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree plus 4 years of related experience, or a PhD plus 1 year of related experience.
• Experience in technical sales, systems engineering, or a professional technical advisory role.
• Proficiency in designing and presenting technical solutions based on specific business requirements.
• Experience leading technical engagements with IT decision-makers and line-of-business stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Cisco’s product portfolio and cross-architectural solution domains.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven track record of displacing competitors and increasing market share within a sales territory.
• Strong ability to influence strategic priorities and lead complex, cross-architecture designs.
• Experience managing virtual support teams and leveraging sales tools to move deals through the technical sales process.
• Expertise in conducting demand generation and enablement campaigns to drive portfolio growth.
• Advanced insights into competitive market tactics and the ability to adapt strategies to evolving market conditions.

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is $192,300.00 to $248,100.00, reflecting the projected salary range for new hires in U.S. and/or Canadian locations, not including incentive compensation, equity, or benefits. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training.

Schedule

This is a remote position, but the customers for this role stretch from Harrisburg, PA to West Virginia. The candidate must reside in a location within that area (preferably from Pittsburgh PA to Harrisburg PA) and be able to commute across the patch. 50% travel expectation.
