Solutions Engineer
Candidate must be located in the NYC metropolitan area. Travel to clients in the NYC market required throughout the week.

Join Team Cisco as a Solutions Engineer, where you’ll serve public-sector customers in New York State—specifically local government and higher education. Together, we drive business outcomes that exceed customer expectations, foster strategic relationships, and create a culture of learning and technical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead, participate in, and deliver high-impact customer presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts.
- Support Cisco, partner, and customer engagements at events such as Tech Days, Executive Briefings, and other local events.
- Build executive relationships and champions within accounts through trust, business acumen, and technical strategies.
- Maintain technical excellence across the Cisco portfolio and ensure solutions align with customer strategies and goals.
- Partner with Services Account Executives to drive full lifecycle adoption of solutions and position CX offerings.
- Influence the future of the portfolio by participating in advisory boards, tiger teams, and providing customer feedback.
- Champion a culture of learning, coaching, and continuous professional development.
Requirements
- 5+ years of industry experience as a pre-sales solutions engineer.
- CCNA-level experience with the ability to achieve CCNP Enterprise certification within 12 months of joining.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco technologies: Networking, Security, Collaboration, Data Center & Cloud, and Observability.
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to travel to customer locations for meetings and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNP or CCIE certification or equivalent.
- Experience presenting complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences, including CxO-level executives.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with AI for solving problems.
- Knowledge of the Cisco partner ecosystem and competitive IT industry landscape.
- Track record of consultative selling.
- Experience in IT Architecture or Operations.

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $223,000.00 to $287,200.00 for new hires in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation, equity, or benefits. Individual pay is determined by hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and training.
Full salary ranges by location:
- New York City Metro Area: $223,000.00 - $330,300.00
- Non-Metro New York State & Washington State: $217,200.00 - $315,300.00
For quota-based sales roles, the ranges include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.

- Additional paid time away for critical or emergency family issues.
- Optional 10 paid days per year for volunteering.
- Annual bonuses for non-sales roles, subject to Cisco’s policies.
- For sales roles: Performance-based incentive pay split between quota and non-quota components, with uncapped earnings potential beyond 100% attainment.
