Solutions Engineer

About the role

The Solutions Engineer will partner across customers and internal teams to translate complex customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) into precise, custom workflows within Airspace's core system. This role involves configuring mobile workflows for drivers and ensuring that every customer-specified action is performed correctly, every time.

Responsibilities

• Partner across customers and internal teams to gather requirements, clarify ambiguity in customer SOPs, and validate configured workflows reflect real operational intent.
• Translate customer SOPs into intelligent workflows, building and maintaining JSON-defined workflow diagrams that specify all business rules for a customer.
• Configure field and mobile driver workflows to ensure every required step is presented correctly and in the right sequence.
• Rigorously test and validate workflows before they go live, and iterate as customer requirements change.
• Identify common patterns across customers and verticals, and design reusable workflow components and templates to reduce configuration time and increase consistency.
• Build for scale and reuse, helping shape tooling, standards, and best practices that make workflow configuration faster and more reliable as Airspace scales.
• Measure and drive workflow impact, using metrics to continuously identify areas for refinement and improving service levels.

Requirements

• 2–4+ years of experience in solutions engineering, implementation, systems configuration, business analysis, or a comparable role.
• Prior experience taking complicated SOPs and parsing them into actionable process flow diagrams or structured workflows.
• Exceptional organization and attention to detail, bringing structure to complexity and catching edge cases.
• Experience governing processes that encourage adoption without proliferation.
• Experience with structured data and configuration logic (e.g., JSON, rules engines, conditional/branching logic).
• Strong communication and requirements-gathering skills, with the ability to interview stakeholders and customers to surface the real process beneath a written SOP.
• Familiarity with process-mapping tools (e.g., BPMN, Lucidchart, Visio) is a plus.
• Logistics, supply chain, or operations experience preferred but not required—Airspace will help build domain expertise.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience with Airspace's workflow engine, JSON workflow schema, and mobile configuration tools.

$88K - $115K base salary, determined by experience and location.
