Solutions Architect - TS/SCI with Polygraph
About the role
The Solution Architect at GDIT is a strategic, high-impact role embedded within the Program Management Office (PMO) and serves as the lead architect across multiple task orders and product lines. This position requires a strong focus on architectural leadership, solution design, and integration of emerging technologies.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the single, trusted focal point for application portfolio rationalization across the IDIQ, driving consistency and alignment among multiple projects and teams.
- Provide architectural leadership across multiple task orders and product lines, ensuring solutions are cohesive, scalable, and aligned with enterprise priorities.
- Proactively identify opportunities to consolidate and modernize applications, reduce technical duplication, and simplify the technical environment.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging and existing technologies that improve performance, security, user experience, and mission outcomes for the customer.
- Guard against the adoption of competing or redundant technologies by driving alignment to an enterprise-wide vision and standards.
- Lead and influence the implementation of the Sponsor’s unified systems roadmap across product lines, systems, and services at the IDIQ level.
- Ensure solutions consistently comply with Sponsor standards, architectures, and long-term strategies, while balancing innovation with risk and cost.
- Help shape and execute our strategy for integrating AI-enabled tools and capabilities into the development lifecycle by identifying opportunities for automation, improving developer productivity, and advising on responsible, mission-aligned AI adoption.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- Ten (10) years of experience in software development, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.
- Five (5) years of experience as a solutions architect.
- Three (3) years of experience leading multiple teams across task orders, or similar leadership role.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, ArgoCD), source control and branching strategies (Git, trunk-based, GitFlow, etc.), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated services for VMs, containers, and serverless, containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, AKS, EKS, GKE), serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, Google Cloud Functions), infrastructure as code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Strong knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including automated security testing and compliance integration.
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe or similar scaled frameworks).
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated experience evaluating and integrating AI-enabled development tools, with the ability to identify automation opportunities, improve developer workflows, and guide responsible AI adoption within complex software environments.
- Experience implementing policy-as-code and security-as-code (e.g., OPA, Sentinel, Conftest).
- Experience using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Pay
The likely salary range for this position is $128,039 - $173,229. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
